“Like every sport, Para-Badminton nurtures unity in diversity and creates a platform for excellence.
“The unique gains of giving disabled sports prominence is that it fosters a sense of belonging in society and encourage the physically challenged to excel by stimulating competitiveness.”
Mrs. Ikpeazu added that it was the reason why she has tried to support the growth of this game, by hosting two editions of the Nkechi Ikpeazu National Open Para-Badminton Championships in Umuahia and by sponsoring the team to the African and World Para-Badminton Championships in Uganda in 2018.

The fight against sickle cell disease continues... Ikpeazu

Sustainability is the key to the fight against sickle cell disease. This is why Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu's Vicar Hope foundation has continued to sustain it's fight against this deadly disease sickle cell as it has continued to reach out to secondary school students, enlightening them on time on the need to know their genotype.
So far, the outreach team of Vicar Hope Foundation, has covered over 20 schools within  Abia State.

The essence of this outreach is to catch them young. It is our duty to fortify our young ones with this important information and by so doing, we are gradually eradicating this dreaded disease sickle cell for the next generation.

Today, it was the turn of Ninlan primary and Secondary School Aba.

Medical experts from Vicar Hope Foundation, enlightened the students of the school on the right combination of genotypes to marry. The Medical laboratory scientist, Elder Patricia Nwankwo, stressed that love is not enough to jeopardize their future.

Sickle Cell Anemia over the years has been perceived as one of the most threatening disorder to man-kind, so many homes had been broken and couples separated, early death and delayed marriage due to this disorder. Millions of people around the world are actually living with this disorder.

Why then would some people at any particular time of their life wish they were not born, or feel like going to heaven is better than remaining on earth. This exactly is how the people living with Sickle Cell Anemia (the SS) feel each time they are in crises (Pain).

As a result of this, Vicar Hope Foundation is not relenting in the fight against this disease.

Don't be too foolish to be blinded by love. Once the crisis begins, the love dies.

The students didn't just learn about sickle cell, our partners from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, led by the assistant commander, Mr. Vitus Nwaigwe, were on ground to further educate the students on the dangers of drug abuse.

Drug abuse has been a National issue, statistics shows that hard drugs has be pointed to be a major key player, contributing to 85 percent of  heinous  crimes in the world.

Stay away from drugs, save your future.
